Photography Without Limits


Run photography workshops for beginners, and conduct photographic field trips to a variety of locations both locally and internationally with clients who want hands on application of their photographic skills in the field.

Ingrid Sellschop has been a passionate photographer for the past 20 years. She travels extensively photographing wildlife, birds and landscapes. She is a member of the Westrand Photography club, in Johannesburg, and a member of the Hibiscus camera club in Kwazulu Natal and a member of the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA). She runs photography workshops for beginners, and she conducts photographic field trips to a variety of locations both locally and internationally with clients who want hands on application of their photographic skills in the field.

She won the Nature photographer of the year in 2011 for the Southern Coast Explorer competition. She exhibits her work at photographic exhibitions each year and she was recently published in Photographic Vibes, as one of the top nature photographers for 2012 and she has published in the Hand Book of the World of Birds, soon to be launched in 2013. She has published her first book in photography “Portraits of a Frogs’ world” is a photographic journal of macro photography done in the Umtamvuna nature reserve in Kwazulu Natal. Ingrid has been photographing the miniature frogs in the reserve for the past 6 years and has put together a collection of images in her first edition of “Portraits of a Frogs’ world”. Ingrid Sellschop completed her four-year under-graduate degree studies in Physiotherapy at the University of the Witwatersrand, graduating in 1995. She started her professional career in an outpatient clinical practice, qualifying two years later with her certification in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (OMT1).

In 1999, Ingrid completed her post-graduate studies in basic and advanced counselling techniques at FAMSA, thereby acquiring the necessary qualifications and skills to offer a professional service in this vital department of patient support. Having a passion for understanding and managing both the physical, psychological and emotional challenges experienced by her patients, Ingrid is both qualified and keen to provide a comprehensive and holistic service when dealing with patient injury, trauma or unwellness.

Revealing a keen interest in educating people and empowering them to help themselves, Ingrid lectured for six years under the auspices of Ergotherapy Solutions, to corporate and industrial clients on a range of wellness and ergonomically related issues in the workplace.

Her principal focus has been on educating clients in Commerce and Industry to reassess workplace environments with a view to optimising work-stations and implementing corrective strategies that help to relieve musculoskeletal pain induced by the repetitive strain encountered in routine occupations such as sustained computer use. F or two years Ingrid served as a professional consultant to the cellular giant Vodacom’s innovative, in-house Wellbeing Suite.

In 2009, Ingrid graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Masters Degree in Medical Science, majoring in Rehabilitation. Currently, Ingrid is pursuing her studies at the University of the Witwatersrand towards a PhD in Physiotherapy, with a special focus on Adolescent Pain.

She is also the founder and co-developer of an Ergo-skills for Schools Programme, which was launched in 2011. In 2013 Ingrid launched her “Healing through the Lens” workshop for patients with chronic pain and who have an interest in starting photography as a hobby.
